Oh.my.goodness. It has been a long day! We were up at 5:30am and in the taxi by 7:00am headed to Kabrousse. We helped with three different distributions in three different “neighborhoods” throughout the village. Each distribution presented its own unique set of complications, challenges and excitement amongst the many crowds of children, anxious to receive their Christmas shoebox.
We are so thankful for our team and the guys from church, and the way that everyone worked together to get {part 1} of the job done! We will meet again in a few weeks to distribute ANOTHER 1,000 boxes to some kids at a school right here in Cap Skirring. Phew!
Shawn handed out boxes and he also took on the big task of being on crowd control, keeping kids from cutting in line, pushing, forming small riots, etc. You know how kids can be…
Meanwhile, I did a little bit of this and that, but mostly I was the photographer for the day. OCC asks for the distributors to take pictures of the groups of children who receive a gift. It’s no easy feat to gather such a big group of kids for a picture! Especially since many rush off in excitement, or don’t understand French.
Despite being long and exhausting, the day went pretty smoothly {PTL}!
Here’s a look at today’s events:

Shawn trying to get the kids to back up. They all wanted a gift at the same time. There were moments of chaos!

Now Shawn tells the kids to form a line. If someone shoved or pushed their way up, he would kindly escort them to the back.
Thanking God that we survived part 1 of the 2,000 box distribution!
MORE pictures to come,
