3 villages in a day

Yesterday was a really awesome day. It’s true that it was also long, hot and tiring, but it was a really awesome day.
Shawn, Caesar (the Brazilian pastor from our Senegalese church), our summer intern Hélène, and myself, all loaded into Caesar’s truck and drove the 2.5 hours to Joine. There’s a young church there in the village that was planted a few years ago by our church in Dakar.
Two years ago when we lived in Dakar, Shawn would go to Joine almost every Wednesday with one or two of the pastors from our church.
Yesterday we went to encourage the believers in three different villages, pray with them, show Hélène what village life is like, and to spend some time visiting with some of the people out there.
Enjoy the pictures from our day.

We pulled over and bought 1,000cfa {about $2} worth of mangos to bring to the pastor in the village.

The woman selling the mangos.

A big mosque.

Shawn and the pastor Doodoo (yes, that's his name), looking at his new horse. That tree is 500 + years old!

Where the people live.

With the ladies.

Pounding millet. I gave it a try. They laughed.

I like this picture.

The guys.

Pray for the believers out in Joine and the surrounding villages. Pray for pastor Doodoo and his wife, and their two kids, that God will provide for their needs (they live on about $100 a month), and that they will be bold as they reach out to those around them.
