Just married …10 years ago

We have both been pretty excited about the 10-year mark. It’s a really big deal because, well, we’re still married! Every anniversary is special, meaningful and worth celebrating. It’s by God’s grace that we’ve hit another mile marker in this road trip called marriage.

A lot has happened in the past ten years. A lot of moves, a lot of changes and adjustments, a lot of laughter, a lot of tears, a lot of  forgiveness, a lot of new cities and languages, a lot of joking, a lot of meals shared together, a lot of learning, fun and accepting.

We thought that ten years was worth documenting, remembering, capturing. So the lovely Ashley La Rue orchestrated a fun photo shoot for us at one of our favorite beach shack restaurants in Dakar.

Here’s to another 10++++++ years together.

  1. Congratulations!!!! I’ll eat an extra bite of cake for each of you at the family get-together on Saturday. It was sooo great to have you with us last year!! May you have 50+ years of togetherness and happiness!!

  2. Jenn and Shawn, you guys are great. Hope you have a great anniversary and look forward to the next 10 and beyond. I pray God blesses you greatly in all that you do. I know that you have been a blessing to us so often.

  3. 10 years already! I still remember getting your wedding invite in the mail. Though we really aren’t that far apart in age, there was something that always made me look up to you – I think it was probably how mature you seemed handling all the littler kids whenever we’d have those rare reunions with our families. :) Congratulations on 10 years and all that you’ve seen and experienced in that decade. It’s been a special treat to share snippets of your current life through the blog & I’m praying great things and continued grace for you these next 10, 20, 50… years!

  4. 10 years. I remember that year for us. It was the year things seemed to get easier, we were even more comfortable and happy with one another and really learned to appreciate one another. But this is about you not us, and I think you guys are years ahead of your time!

Love you both and know that a lifetime of happiness and faithfulness lies ahead for you.

  5. I just don’t know which pic is my fav. I love them all. The coloring is impecable! And each and every pose is unique. Well done, Shawn, hangin in there for each pose! Just beautiful! Great 10th memory.

  6. Beautiful pictures. Enjoy each year. I was blessed with almost 58 before my George went to be with the Lord and miss him so much so always take time for each other.
