Happy: Shawn turned 33 yesterday. Hooray for another year of life!
Shawn and two of his little blue-shirt-wearing buddies. One of these little guys is the one who asks his Mom if Shawn is Goliath. *heart melts*. Also, they sang “happy birthday” to him in French. Très adorable!
Sad: My good Canon camera isn’t working right now. First it wouldn’t focus when I tried to zoom in, but now it doesn’t seem to want to take pictures at all! Noooooooo! Whatever will I do??
Happy: We went out with some good friends last night to celebrate Shawn’s birthday. We went to a very nice restaurant [it didn't even feel like we were in Senegal] called Le Lodge. The food was aaa-mazing! The atmosphere was beautiful, well decorated and the staff was helpful and friendly. Win. Win.
Sad: Our good friends are beginning a new chapter in their lives, which moves them from Senegal back to Canada. They will be dearly missed. We met years ago in Québec, and, long story short, God has allowed our paths to cross many times, which is a bit of a miracle since when we left Québec we moved to Guinea. Even though naturally we are sad to see them go, we are happy for the times we’ve had together!
Wearing colorful stripes: happy.
Making progress in our house/new office: happy.
Talking to friends and neighbors in Cap Skirring and hearing how much they miss us: sad.
Meeting new friends at this morning’s community garage sale: happy.
Playing a small part in the great scheme of world missions: happy and blessed.
