Hey. I had no idea that today was Wednesday. I didn’t think it was Tuesday, nor did I think it was Thursday, or any other day. In my mind, today just didn’t have a day of the week assigned to it. Until I remembered that yesterday we bought the “Buy one get one free” Tuesday pizza deal {Pizza Inn}, which meant that today must be Wednesday. Which reminded me of two things:
1. Dear Blank is today.
2. We have leftover pizza for lunch today. Hip hip hooray for leftovers.
Tear gas and riots right outside our building… you have really put a damper on my plans to walk to the market this morning!
Young guy collecting rocks to throw at cars that pass by… Shawn is standing right here at our gate, and if you step this direction, thinking that you’re going to collect rocks from over here, you’re wrong. He may just “invite you in for a tour”…
Short shorts seen in shows and movies… wow! You’re a shock to my “living in a culture where women cover their thighs and knees” self. That is a lot of leg right there.
Hot coffee… je t’aime.
First time visitors to Senegal… just so you know, those “Tampon” signs you see written all over the place (on store windows, on signs), those are advertising places where you can purchase RUBBER STAMPS! I used to wonder {and laugh a little bit} too, no worries.
Milk powder billboard… really? Buying your product to give to someone else is THE biggest proof of love? That’s quite a statement right there.
Taxis who cut to the front of the line, and then cut in… you’re so frustrating! UNLESS, that is, I’m in your taxi. Then suddenly we’re getting ahead of that long line of traffic, and you can cut in line anytime you want.
